OBAMA: If government can't access phones 'everybody is walking around with a Swiss Bank account in their pocket'

  1. I assume that information would be open to the public, even right now we get our information at all most light speed, just one click and the whole world knows about it. With such information being public, there are people that would be able to speak on everything because the public already knows. Think about how many whistle blowers could have used such a societal setting? If we allow the conditions for that to happen, we have won. Look at what secrecy has gotten us.

  2. There is no such thing as a half way crook. Real criminals are criminals just like criminals are criminals. Open expansion of information, mind you we are in the information age, would allow everyone from every country to know what is going on. Some would say "but we will let our enemies know everything". Well you were prepared to fight your own government just this morning.

The world is flat now, metaphorically speaking. With the white and Jewish platform here in America being so cruel to the rest of the world not to mention the people here, one must assume that America holds no real bond ship with loyal allies. So in essence, the last 8 years has been spent trying to show the world that America can be "humble". It seems to be working and the powers that be know this. This is why they are fighting so hard to block these types of measures.

The very word "secrecy" is repugnant in a free and open society; and we are as a people inherently and historically opposed to secret societies, to secret oaths and to secret proceedings. We decided long ago that the dangers of excessive and unwarranted concealment of pertinent facts far outweighed the dangers which are cited to justify it. Even today, there is little value in opposing the threat of a closed society by imitating its arbitrary restrictions. Even today, there is little value in insuring the survival of our nation if our traditions do not survive with it. And there is very grave danger that an announced need for increased security will be seized upon by those anxious to expand its meaning to the very limits of official censorship and concealment. That I do not intend to permit to the extent that it is in my control. And no official of my Administration, whether his rank is high or low, civilian or military, should interpret my words here tonight as an excuse to censor the news, to stifle dissent, to cover up our mistakes or to withhold from the press and the public the facts they deserve to know. -JFK
