Here are some questions which I might ask a Catholic priest. Why does God require so much praise, is He a very egotistical God? Since God supposedly knows what is in everyone's mind anyway, why do we have to tell Him? Since evil exists in the world supposedly because God does not wish to interfere in order to avoid interfering with anyone's free will, whey then would we expect God to answer anybody's prayers ever, since that would also be a form of interference in human affairs? Or conversely, if answering prayers does not interfere with free will, then why is there still so much evil in the world when clearly, many people have been praying that God will eliminate it? If it was really so important for Adam and Eve to refrain from eating the forbidden fruit of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, why was that tree placed in the Garden of Eden in the first place? How can I have inherited the guilt for the Original Sin of Adam and Eve when that happened long before I was born and I obviously could not have done anything to prevent it from happening? Is it reasonable to punish people for things their ancestors did? Or, is it reasonable to punish Jesus with crucifixion for something he did not do? Any why is it that by torturing Jesus, who was an innocent person, or by arranging for the Romans to do so, God can then forgive the human race for a crime that the presently living members of the human race did not commit? Doesn't it make more sense to punish the guilty for their crimes and not to punish the innocent? And if God wanted to forgive the human race would it not be in His power to do so out of the goodness of His heart, without requiring anybody to be crucified? Does God love suffering, and if so, would this not make Him an evil being? When Pope Francis says that allowing same-sex couples to marry would be a distortion of God's plan, is it his intention to prevent gay couples from living happy lives together in the hope that they will in desperation join the Catholic priesthood so that they can molest the altar boys?
