RedbloodedAmerica didn’t know what was coming

But that still isn't proportionate. The crime for murder is time in jail not money for bail. If the millionaire's life span was 10,000 years then yes, they should go away longer.

Equal treatment is always dependant on circumstances. That's why the law is never the same. Same crime can have different sentences.

Example: Du Pont heir, Robert H. Richards IV, dodged prison for raping 3-year-old daughter after judge ruled he 'would not fare well' behind bars. He was the scion of the family who built the chemical empire and kin to the co-founders of a prestigious law firm, Richards Layton & Finger. Money obviously saved his ass.

On the other hand a judge sentenced a 55-year-old man, Goodwin to the maximum life in prison for his first-degree attempted rape conviction.

Does that sound fair?
