Remember the guy who was arrested for hacking into Riot's servers and accessing/selling player data? His court case just ended.

Let's see, damage control after such a hack is not exactly free. Probably in the range of tens of thousands of dollars just in employee fees for Riot, who have to assess the damage the hackers commited and devise a reaction plan / security review. Also, there's the damage done to individuals as a result of stealing / selling accounts. Riot might have given the accounts back to people, but I doubt others who bought them got reimbursed. Stolen property or not, you can't know that they bought them knowing that. Those people got fucked, legit. I get it, the guy has a condition, but from the article and what he did, it is pretty clear that he was CONSCIOUS of what he was doing. Hell, he probably enjoyed his little power trip, due to being repressed and whatnot. That's not to say that that I don't feel for the guy, but walking away scot free just doesn't sound right. I'm not saying they should have locked him into a Max cell, but they'd have to reimburse the buyers of accounts at the very least.
