The ideal solution? All those workers make good life choices when they are younger so that nobody will ever take these types of jobs in the first place.

Owners of such businesses, desperate to find workers, will now have a very tough time due to everyone in the workforce being overqualified.

As a result, they are forced to come up with creative new ways to run their business such as automation. If it is absolutely impossible to automate, then they will be forced to pay a fair value price to get people willing to work there.

The only reason minimum wage is so low is because people are willing to accept it and still work those jobs like a little bitch. If all the poorest people banded together and refused to work any job that paid less than say, $20 an hour, then businesses would ultimately have to comply. But the fact is, anyone who does this today is just going to be replaced by someone who can make minimum wage work for them (students who live at home with their parents). But these are really who I consider minimum wage jobs appropriate for anyways, you shouldn't be working one in your 30s, and if you are, you're pretty much a failure at life.
