[S5E8] Am I the only one who was surprised/impressed that this guy wound up being something of a hero?

That much is obvious since it took untold after episode 8 for people to start spoiling shit. The fact is that people have given away what happened in the books, when they shouldn't have. Whether or not the show does things differently is irrelevant. The fact that comment is at -9 shows that people still can't comprehend why they shouldn't do it.

It's kind of like people spoiling that tyrion kills Tywin last season. Now instead of just admitting they're assholes they get to hide behind "well the show is so much different." That's interesting, then how are you still managing to spoil major events every single season? People aren't predicting what's going to happen, they are predicting how it's going to happen and who's going to do it.

I don't understand how you can't see that that's what I'm saying. Seriously I went from being as fascinated with the GoT universe after the Hardhome episode, to just kind of pissed that I now know what's almost definitely going to happen. Mostly I was pissed at myself, I should know better than to go on the internet and discuss Game of Thrones by now. But I figured this subreddit would be safe. It's not like I was on YouTube reading all the comments. You know, because there's an entirely different sub for book readers to discuss the contrast between the book and show.

Oh well, I guess I can hope the show is going to be almost drastically different. At least I'm making it harder on the spoilers. I had the season 2 finale of boardwalk empire spoiled on Facebook a few years ago because I didn't watch it till a couple days after it aired. This shits getting spoiled almost two weeks before the episode airs I'm assuming, so I can take that as consolation.
