It’s actually not a true statement that in general immigrants commit more crimes. It absolutely depends on where those immigrants are from. For example Mexican immigrants in America commit crimes at rates less than American citizens. It is true that poverty and petty crimes do go hand in hand pretty much universally in the world that isn’t what is being discussed here. The North and East African Muslim immigrants in Sweden are committing violent and serious crimes 400% or more than Swedes and also multiple times higher than immigrants from other countries that aren’t from a region of countries that practice a particularly strict form of Islam. You can discount a 10-20% higher rate to any number of variables, but you can’t see a 400% difference which is drastically higher than any other group of people including other immigrants from other countries and say it’s just poverty.
