When I’m feeling low I turn to music. I find it helps with motivation, and it can also make boring tasks like doing the dishes somewhat enjoyable. Here are some other things I’ve been trying, maybe they’ll help you:
-Reading. Even if it’s just one page. Do a bit more every day and it becomes easier to concentrate for longer without getting bored. I struggled with this a few months ago when I started reading again. When I began, it felt like my long term depression had killed my ability to concentrate and find joy in reading, but I’m making progress. All I did was start reading a page or 2 a night. Reading is a great hobby.
-Go for a walk or run. Walking is always an easy win. It’s simple, and good for your mind and body. Just walking around the block can feel like a win if you’ve had a rough day.
-Origami. I make bookmarks, they’re pretty simple and always useful.
-Whittling, if you have access to soft wood and using a knife isn’t a problem.
-Tidying/cleaning. I often do short 5-10 minute sessions of tidying with music. Even a small amount is a win.
-Write. I try to journal every day, it helps gather my thoughts. You can write creatively, make a list of things you want to do, plan your week, or just write whatever is on your mind. Writing a few sentences or making a list is pretty easy.
-Meditate. Just sitting and clearing your mind for a few moments can be helpful.
