Those who have ended a close friendship, what's the story behind it? Was it a difficult decision for you?

We were best friends in college but I transferred out and we lived 1000+ apart. We stayed friends but we were both busy and didn't talk too much. That's fine with me but then she made a series of bad decisions, each time calling me to ask advice and then completely disregarding it. And she only called me when she needed advice. Bc she disregarded my advice, she'd end up in more shit (I'm not even talking about how good my advice is. The right answer is always obvious and she never did it). I got tired of only talking to her when she had issues. Then my dad got sick. I ignored a text about some stupid relationship problem and answered 24 hrs later, apologizing and mentioned my dad was in the hospital. She went off on me, saying she needed advice yesterday not today and whatever she's jetting off to Tokyo with her bf now xoxo (clearly that relationship problem was life or death /s)

I never spoke to her again. She only wanted me in her life when she needed me and she had no interest in my life, or my dying father. Never really missed her tbh
