TIL that Bowling Balls 12 lbs or less float in water

Hmmm.

The formula for the volume of a sphere is:

V=0.75πr3

The diameter of a bowling ball according to Wikipedia is about 8.5 inches. So the radius would be about 4.25 inches.

So if we use that number in the formula, we get: (0.75(3.14159(4.253))) = 180.874589883 cubic inches.

The weight of 181 cubic inches of water is just 6.54 pounds. and is less than the weight of all but the lightest of bowling balls.

This has made me realize that I'm pretty bored right now.
