TIL that just one minute prior to the atomic bombing of Nagasaki, US Planes dropped an unsigned letter over the city addressed to professor Ryokichi Sagane, who had studied with three of the scientists who worked on the Manhattan Project, urging him to tell the public about the danger of the bombs.

Alright... this isn't just a bad title. It is deliberately, malicious misleading and OP should go fuck himself.

Sagane was not in Nagasaki. He was in Tokyo. The Message was for him to try and lobby and convince the government that yes, the nukes were possible. Yes, we really had one. Yes, we have now used two of them, and yes, we are willing to use more. So end this goddam war already.

Meanwhile leaflets warning about the bombing of cities had been dropped many months prior, telling civilians that many or all, but not necessarily exclusively, all of the cities listed were a target in order to hamper the Japanese war effort and that they are advised to evacuate and encouraged to demand new leadership that will put an end to this useless war.

This whole comment section is a circle-jerk over a nonsense headline and it's exactly what OP was going for. Go fuck yourself OP.
