Transgender wrestler Mack Beggs identifies as male. He just won the Texas state girls’ title.

This is one issue that's going to take a long time to get settled. I know everybody here says to "put him in the men's category" and just be done with it. He's a man, there should be no debate about that. But, politics removed, it's a lab-grown athlete. Young men who don't transition don't get to choose how they develop, but this man has a say in it like other aspiring athletes don't. I'm sure a lot of young men who would be otherwise subpar athletes would like to increase their testosterone levels. How could his doctor possibly know what a "fair" amount of testosterone is for an athlete? Do you just give him enough so that his levels are within a certain range? What about boys who naturally don't have that level of testosterone, should they be able to take testosterone? There's no easy answer to this question, and I hope that people can see past the political statement and really look into their hearts of what's fair. Sports isn't like the rest of the world. If politics are put before fairness in sports, then the integrity of the sport is compromised.

There are a lot of questions that people need answers to, because this shouldn't be a political issue. It's not even just matter of science or biology either, it's also a matter of ethics. This is a conversation the country and the sports world needs to have without having to tiptoe around transphobia.
