We only spent a few days there but Penang/Georgetown easily spent walking around with all the street art going on, KL overall nice city to wander around, obvs you’ve got the Petronas towers better to hit that in the evening with the light shows and what not

If you fancy a quirky hostel experience we stopped in ‘space hostel’ in KL and was very cool! like 8 dollars for a night and you stop in your own space pod with all these mad buttons to control your pods needs, the whole place was insane tube slides going down to the lobby all dark and neon lighting etc etc just a random suggestion i know thats not soaking up part of the culture but an experience! Something like that would cost so much back home no doubt!

Transport wise i imagine is usually fine we got very unlucky, got a sleeper bus to K.L, and we were the only ones on the bus, the driver knew we were only going to K.L. We woke up to find out he had taken us another hour and a half further than K.L, it was like 4am in some random bus station in the middle of nowhere and he refused to take us back, wouldn’t even help us figure out what to do from there, he left us and trains weren’t operating until 06:30, so we had to sleep on the pavements until then with our stuff amongst some lovely critters crawling around and what not. Laugh or you’ll cry kinda thing. I’m sure that won’t happen to you though just make sure u schedule ur sleeping etc x
