Trump acquitted for second time following historic Senate trial

You realize there is a big difference between "you and me, let's duel, twenty paces and one shot a piece" versus "that guy over there just gunned down 27 kids at the school, and two of the teachers that tried to stop him."

Right?

Like, you could only shoot and wound a single person (you didn't usually kill someone with a gun, you wounded them and they died later; typically from infection). There was virtually no danger to the entire community if "Shifty Simon" ended up being possessed by demons. He'd be stopped almost immediately and hanged upon trial (or shot).

The founders never envisioned someone having the ability to wound and kill a dozen or even a hundred people at a time. They never would have entrusted such firepower with just anyone. They would have absolutely required that such an owner keep it on their person at all times or locked away in a chest or hidden.

Oh, and this line makes me laugh.

because if you can't trust your citizens you don't have a democracy.

I guess the rest of the Western world is not a democracy. Since they have reasonable restrictions in place for ownership, some even saying essentially no ownership. What utter nonsense.
