I'll say this though, this was a terrible time to make any kind of move like this. Or at least to make a big announcement to the public about it. If they really felt it needed to go right now, then just do it and don't say anything or remove the images and don't say anything. I think them calling attention to what they did is actually worse than the damage those images were doing. Because yeah you have this huge distraction and talking point for conservatives like this. They feast on shit like this, it energizes them when something like this happens. And for that to happen NOW of all times is the fucking absolute worst thing for our country. If you want to go full on conspiracy with it, I'd say conservative owned companies that have rights to stuff like this would actually do well for their cause to say they had to censor something because "the libs" asked them to. Like if News Corp still owned all the Fox Stuff, if they did something major like say like they weren't going to continue printing or showing Die Hard or some shit like that because they had reports of it being offensive. That would do more to get people to vote R than any amount of campaigning will do. We as liberals need to understand not to feed to lions even if there is the best of intentions behind it. Not at this point in time. And that's what no one seems to get. Focus on actually making Americans' lives better, bring us back from the edge of distruction like this, then move on with it. And this Seuss thing shows that you cannot make this shit a priority.
