His actions were influenced by virulently anti-Hillary Giuliani allies in the NYC FBI office, and a bogus Russian document that FBI counterintelligence agents doubted from day one. Democrat Eric Holder said Comey's actions re: Hillary were disgraceful. Republican Rod Rosenstein said Comey's actions re: Hillary were disgraceful. Virtually every former DOJ official Democrat and Republican, including Comey's own personal friends, agree. Comey's a piece of s h i t who cared more about appearing ethical than actually being ethical, and whether it was stupidity or hubris, his unprecedented rule-breaking actions directly led to Donald Trump's victory.
