Someone told me on r/actuallesbians that she felt zero obligation to reveal her trans/pre-op status to any potential romantic/sexual partner until they were actually naked. I told her I felt it was an issue of consent and having all the relevant information? She told me there’s no such thing as consenting to be with a trans person. I told her that was unfair, and she told me I’m a terrible person and a bigot. Made me sad because there are trans women in my life that I love and respect, and they would never say such a thing. I think people have the right to know what parts they’ll be engaging with when giving consent. I dunno if this makes me terrible? I really hope not though. They told me to come here.
