Valve debated about adding women to TF2 in 2009

One side here basically adamantly against having women in games and the other arguing that the games should force women in the games.

How is it that almost everyone misses the point? The creative minds of the games should have the freedom to do whatever the fuck they want to serve their own story/game and some bullshit political agenda.

If the author thinks the protagonist is some invertebrate tentacle-sexual and that fits the game well then great, he shouldn't be swayed into a different vision other that his own because of some shit that should irrelevant to video games that do not seek to send some political message (IE most).

It's not bad to have women in a game because it would break your immersion or some shit, seriously people here telling me they personally relate to the TF2 characters... just no.

When it sucks is when the author has this checklist of inclusion and he has to adapt his work in order to meet it. It's about creative freedom, not about women's rights, nor about men's rights. Fuck these gender arguments in video games. The only devs that should concern themselves with such things is those who WANT to.
