One of the greatest criticisms about the EU is financial transparency
Where the money goes in the EU and indeed how its spent by the EU as a government and in the 27 countries
How the total contribution to the EU is determined and in turn how much the rebate is
What if Holyrood just spent the same money itself or reviewed the spending to be more targeted to improve the economy
My question would be do we know what the return on investment is ? - certainly we know we get customs union, trade deal benefits that would otherwise cost to manage independently but how much does the EU money spent in the UK benefit the economy directly ?
My biggest issue is that none of this was really the discussion in the EU ref - there was no detailed analysis that I saw - surely we need better informed than a wing and a prayer Brexit
