What is with this sub’s zeitgeist for higher taxes in this sub?

Debt is a fuck, just borrow more money like we have been for decades.

Massive debt is a prelude to economic catastrophe. "Economy don't real, money printer go brr" is a braindead take. Not that I'm a deficit hawk. And not that I would mourn the economic collapse of the American empire.

And certainly, anyone who wants to raise their own taxes in order to keep funding the military-industrial complex and wealth transfers from the middle-class to corporations is acting against their own self-interest.

I dunno man, I'm not sure if anything can be done to avoid Great Depression 2.0 at this point, maybe we should just maintain course. Let's revisit this topic when everything falls apart and compare notes.
