When you compare salaries for men and women who are similarly qualified and working the same job, no major gender wage gap exists

Jewish people and Gypsies were persecuted in the 1940s. However, in the 1930s through 40s the US Public Health Service conducted a study on the latent effects of syphilis on African Americans, in Tuskegee Alabama. They knowingly denied those individuals medical treatment based on their race and skin color for an unethical medical study. That was in the US during the same time that Josef Mengele was conducting his similarly unethical studies.

Think about that for a second.

Now as for the Jews and Gypsies. They were persecuted by the Nazi Party in Germany. We're not talking about who's had it worse historically speaking, we're talking about who has had it worse in the US. The Japanese and other Pacific Islanders were put into internment camps and that is unjustifiable. However, I will say that an important part of the African American struggle as compared to the Pacific Islanders' struggle is that African Americans had no say in this. They were sold into slavery.

Which brings me to my next point, it doesn't matter that Africans caught other Africans and sold them to the Dutch. Are you really justifying slavery by saying the person who captured them got weapons and resources? You're selling another human being into slavery. Imagine the worst 9-5 job you've ever had, now do that every hour until you die. That was your life. You were stolen from your home country and sold to someone to work for until you die.

The Japanese weren't subjected to centuries institutionalized oppression, only to be given full rights 50 years ago. We're not Nazi Germany and we cannot be held accountable for their actions, nor should we, but we should be accountable for the actions that our country has committed against a group of people who's only crime is existing.
