the erosion of gender as a concept, while i recognize it's a messy subject, will be the singular issue that moves me from being a progressive into a creature that sounds like my fist shaking, fox news obsessed, baby boomer parents

I don't expect female oppression, i don't deny there's more to it than a binary. But i honestly feel barring some issues that still affect women (abortion rights, might be unpopular here but yes..wage gap, maternity leave, and ability to perform some jobs that's still taboo-ish) and a few that affect men (custody inequality, paternity leave, circumcision, etc..) that most people in the world are pretty comfortable with gender socialization that matches our sex. Is it always fair or contradiction free? No. But for the most part, most people are comfortable with it and we're happy to live in a society where most of one half of the population compliments and fits together like a puzzle piece with the other half.

For this to be completely ripped apart by 1 in 30,000 people who are transgender, or whatever the population of people is who don't believe in gender socialization of any kind, honestly shakes the foundation of my reality so deeply to the core, i'd rather not live in this world.

I don't think any "other" should be bullied, or denied employment or anything of the sort. I just don't think we should have to build our reality around their unique, and honestly an extreme statistical anomaly of an experience. You don't get to force me to participate in your deviation or in your fantasy by telling me what pronoun to use, you don't get to erode the etiquettes polite society has built around locker rooms, bathrooms and so forth.

This is the type of shit that will make me move to the mountains and live out the remainder of my years away from society. It is a singular issue that could potentially make me go from someone so progressive that Bernie Sanders and Ralph Nader don't seem left-wing enough, to someone who'd contemplate voting Republican just to push this culture of bullshit away.

I shouldn't have to live in the fantasy of YOUR identity crisis. Sorry you didn't turn out like the rest of the world. We're all snowflakes in our own little ways. But you can't just keep kicking every pillar of culture and society down to cater to increasing smaller and smaller and smaller minority groups. Eventually you're just a different individual and YOU are the one that has to deal with it. Not everyone else. There is a pragmatic end to this crap and frankly, this is where i draw the line.

I proudly supported gay rights and gay marriage. I proudly call myself a feminist (until it's been muddied in the last 4-5 years by trigger warning, safe space, microaggression SJWs). I'm socialist-ish, environmentalist, even support BLM when it's about police brutality and racial profile rather than cry-bully bullshit calling for someone's head at a college or university b/c someone said something to you that was mean one time and now SOMEONE must pay for this... but for MOST people, men are men, women are women. And we should be seen equal under the law. If you violate that extreme normative, too bad, so sad. Deal with it.
