Where do you think the United States is to the left of Europe?

Empire mate. If you we're in the club you're still in the club. All the immigrants I personally am friends with from former Empire countries are a credit to their nations. If they came here chances are they identity with values and institutions we left behind.

Your mistake is you assume it is about race and not action. Not that there isn't racism, but I would speculate most of it is directed at Muslims. But again that comes back to action. Muslims have taken over our prisons with religious thuggery, taken religious control of schools, segregated council meetings by gender, rising antisemitism, mass rapes, cutting off a soldiers head in the street, blowing people up etc.etc.etc. They get a lot of bad press. But the problem is not really about race, it's about an ideology.

Mass Eastern European migration did depress wages in a few industries. That's just an objective fact. Also, Europeans generally don't put any effort into integrating. A lot of them are are here for cash to get a house/business. It's difficult to compete with people who don't take breaks or follow any of the standard health and safety culture we have all for half the price. This has led to some fairly understandable resentment.

But I think it is overstated in regards to EE. I feel like you possibly might be conflating the whole Gypsy thing with feeling towards EE's in general. EE's by most are at least respected because they work their arses off. American's think the discussion about Gypsies is racist but I just don't think that applies in this one case, they don't play by our rules. All I know is every interaction I've ever had with a Gypo has been deeply unpleasant. And I have 2 autistic brothers so I'm fairly open minded about crazy behaviour.

In regards to Russia, I think it's more nuanced. Not everyone is against Russia. General perception is 'don't fuck with Russians'. Most negativity is toward Putin rather than the Russian people.

I expect a lot of people aren't happy about the whole Ukraine situation.

We had been told the whole Empire thing was done, it's not fair. <-- sarcasm
