As a married woman, I can guarantee that many/most married women "give up to avoid a fight" over so many other things that it's not funny. I've literally stopped even rolling my eyes about laundry dumped next to the goddamn laundry basket or cereal bowls with crusty cereal left around the house or the fact that the literal only thing I ask my husband to do every week (taking out the trash) is 90% of the time done by me - so I figure that "happy wife, happy life" can be applied every now and then to me getting my way about what TV show or movie we're watching tonight.
