I would literally rather die than work.

Wow do I know how you feel.

I have always hated work. More than people hate each other in the middle east. It was obvious and apparent to me from the beginning that it was a set-up designed to extract everything of value out of you, and giving you no means to refuse or complain.

Having a “job” means that I can't shit when I need to. I can't sleep when I need to. I can't just be still and silent when my sanity needs to.

I am not a light switch operating by clockwork. I cannot just “turn on” in the morning and fake a bullshit smile and deal with other people's problems all day when I have more than a fair share of my own. I have real existential issues that are nagging me worse than a disease, and no work I have ever found offered me the cure, or even awareness that these things exist, like:

  • What is life for? Why are we doing this?
  • Why do we die? What is death? Where do we go?
  • Where is god in all of this? Is he real? Is he an asshole?
  • Where is the human species headed? More technologically advanced slavery or are we going to one day benefit from all the work we have done?
  • Why are some people forced to pay certain amounts of taxes, and others get free healthcare, but the only difference is where they were born? Why doesn't everyone have human rights?
  • How the hell can it be considered anything but abuse and slavery to have to obey an employer or face homelessness or starvation? Does our civilization really depend on something so coercive as this in order for us to survive?
  • Why can't I spend my time learning and practicing what I would love instead?

And all I can think to my less-intelligent, unimaginative, demanding, usurper of human rights and dignity otherwise known as a “boss” -

“How dare you have this control over me?”

And of course I would never do it, but I imagined having a Samurai sword and just slicing this guy in half from his ass to his mouth and then getting back to something better in life. What I was born to do.

We need bosses and jobs as much as we need whips and chains. The majority of humanity must be idiots to keep asking for more jobs, when what we need to do is create systems which free us from them so we can do the real work that brings us progress and fulfillment.
