YSK that its illegal for a restaurant to make a server pay for a dine and dash

Have you ever worked in a restaurant as a server though? These cases are almost impossible to hold up. It costs the server their job, their time and their already dwindling income. And then most of the time these cases aren’t won. Source: I’ve tried to do it, and the lawyer straight up told me that without more incidents/issues and proof of the incidents and issues, that it’s a waste of time. And good luck convincing a staff of starving and poor servers to risk their job to tattle tale on their boss. The system in America is fucked and we actually do need someone to fight this battle for us, because we aren’t fucking winning it alone.
