YSK that when you come into the emergency room as a trauma patient, you will be stripped down to your underwear

Years ago on a construction job I was struck in the head by a heavy chain. I was taken to the local hospital and given a CT scan and then told I would have to be transfered to the nearest hospital with a trauma center because there was something on the CT. (Turned out to be nothing) They loaded me back in the ambulance and right before arriving they informed me I was going to loose my clothes, but the EMT also told me "when we get there, close your eyes and don't open them until I tell you." It being a scary situation all ready it was a little off-putting but I agreed because what else was I going to do. After I was in, situated and half naked I asked why he had asked me to close my eyes and he told me that since it's a trauma center in a city, they don't always know what they're rolling me into. There could have been someone with serious injuries, laying right next to me and they wanted to make sure before telling me to open my eyes.
