Also an attorney here, another article I read about this (https://www.google.com/amp/s/abc7ny.com/amp/frank-abrokwa-feces-attack-subway-crime-hate/11614136/) states that his charges were not bail eligible. Prosecutors asked for bail despite the law.

An attorney should know better than to assume the crime was bail eligible just because prosecutors asked for bail, all in the same comment admonishing misinformation.

The article I cited state the charges. Harassing and menacing. If that article is correct, the charges are in fact not bail eligible and the Judge’s hands were tied (https://indefenseof.us/assets/images/BAIL-ELIGIBLE-OFFENSES.pdf). Why he was charged with two misdemeanors rather than something like assault, idk. Seems like a failure of the prosecution and bail reform laws instead of the Judge to me.
