I feel like I’m learning about a privilege that is different than white privilege and male privilege. I don’t know if it’s from wealth or one’s whole worldview being formed in a bubble of toxic white male privilege or something else. But the “white conservative woman” privilege is something I personally can’t understand. I think I’m fairly empathetic and I try and understand what others go through. But I can’t understand the brand of conservatism that woman have that allow them to disbelieve in the violence and harassment that is so clearly pervasive in our society. It’s not my place to crack that code, but I wish there were others in a place to understand that could help shed light on the psychology and reasoning behind this.
