I was raised Catholic. My family is extremely religious. They despise gay people and are privately racist. My sister is anti-birth control and anti-abortion. She's saving herself for marriage and she believes that people who don't are sinful. It's sickening. She just graduated from a small, co-ed Catholic college that has a strict dress code. The women have to wear skirts or dresses, cut below the knee. Most the women graduate, but go on to have 12 kids, so they never even use their degrees. My sister got a job working for a division of the federal government. I'm not going to say which organization, but it scares me that the government is recruiting from extremely conservative, religious schools.
