Something I’ve learned over time is that many (not all) NT women like ‘drama’ and gossip with any one of them being the victim at one point or another. They nit pick, argue about it, then are friends again.

I’ve noticed when NTs say something hurtful or mean and you respond aggressively they immediately back down by being extra nice or offering gifts. It’s ridiculous and such a waste of energy. I get that with friendship, disagreements are inherent but for many women it seems to be a form of entertainment. It’s just not worth it to me.

Anyway, all that to say that this is likely the normal course of friendship with that group so they don’t even understand that you’re not interested in the games. You’re wise to stick to family and spouse. If you can find a like-minded friend then wonderful but people like that aren’t worth an aspie’s time or energy.
