An interesting premise.

The court system should be protecting for these sorts of things. People have recourse if a government isn’t there to shield large corporations. The only thing the courts have difficulty protecting for is whatever is already galvanized and protected by legislators through legislation that seems like it’s helping but really just acts as a magnet for the corporate lobby. Big pharma is a huge example, they are constantly lobbying the FDA for production requirements etc that edge out smaller competition. The answer to your question about the mortgage debacle was that a recession occurred and the bad actors were eventually exposed, if you’re angry that they were not punished you can point that anger directly at the government. The market expands and contracts in certain industries as a result of consumer and social pressure. If people take BS loans out that’s their own prerogative.. we now know who the antagonists where And who the fools were...better to teach people than to prevent mistakes that will keep on repeating themselves.
