Australia joins US ships in South China Sea amid rising tension

We've never had a situation as dire as this since world war 2. China is alot stronger now than what it was. Iran has nuclear capabilities. The next war won't be a proxy if it breaks out and it's going to have devistating effects on civilization if it does go down that path.

There has to be another way.

I understand strong arming hostile countries but you need to do it in a diplomatic way, and the Trump administration let them make too many advances and now it just feels like it's too late.

I'm not trying to come off as anti-Trump either, I'm not american and I don't agree with his politics but that's not my sentiment. This shit isn't worth it.
