that awful time

Okay, let's go over what you were talking about.

I'm so sorry. Of course war excuses everything. Even going down the slope of fascism. How stupid I am.

How melodramatic of you, did I once say war excuses everything? No. I said it's easy for someone 70 years in the future to look back and figure out a better path to take.

Interning a minority based on their race? "It was war!"

So who were our enemies? Who bombed us at pearl harbor? Don't be an overly dramatic thespian, the USA's enemies were the Japanese. Is it unreasonable to assume an enemy country would want to invade? Like how the Russian's have had several sleeper cells, one that even penetrated the F.B.I's inner ranks? Is that an absurd notion to you? That war means groups of people are combating one another, regardless of their current location? Yes, I understand that most Japanese people were not enemies, and law abiding U.S citizens. But you're taking about a subject we're debating today and being very caviler about it, as if it's a simple subject. How do you deal with potential enemies mixed among law abiding citizens? Here's an alternative solution, F.D.R could have murdered all those people, like how the U.S.A handled that issue in Vietnam during the 70's. "How insensitive of me! How evil and racist!" Obama has authorized the murder of hundreds of thousands of Islamic people, where up to %90 of the time it may not be a terrorist. He's blown up wedding parties, he's killed women and children, and all of them are one race of people. That's how he deals with the same problem. How do you deal with potential enemies interspersed with a general population? Give me a satisfying answer to that question if you're so wise.

You're seemingly implying, by using the word internment, that what the U.S did to the Japanese is on par with what the German's did to the Jewish people. It's not even close, not even in the same ballpark. You are delusional if you think they are comparable beyond housing people forcefully. And the forcefully is dramatically different as well. Actually, that type of uninformed thinking really undermines the enormity of the tragedy that the Jewish people went through.

Refusing to help the jews escape Europe? "It was war!"

Like Albert Einstein? The Jew we let in this country that was escaping Europe... What case are you citing? I would like to know what case(s) you're referencing.

Bypassing democratic institutions to impose your economic reforms? "At least it worked! Also... It was war!"

It worked, and these reforms predate the war as well. What are the "democratic institutions" in which you are refereeing? Be specific, these general statements don't offer much in the way of serious consideration.

There are actions that are necessary because of war like the atomic bombing of Japan. But justifying proto-fascism because of a war that isn't even on american soil? No, you can't.

Proto-facist? Like Mussolini, or Stalin? You seriously think someone like Stalin, who murdered a million of his people. Million. Take a moment to think about how many a million of people are. Think, I know it may be uncomfortable, but think about how many of his own people Stalin slaughtered. And you want to put F.D.R in the same ball park as Stalin? I can't tell if you're that devoted to a bad assumption, or willfully ignorant, but it's not even close.

So now we've focused on every negative aspect you've risen. All four of them. 1.2.3.4 Does F.D.R get points for starting welfare? Kick starting the economy? Winning the greatest war the world has ever known? Not only winning that war but positioning us to be the lenders to the reconstruction of Europe, arguably what rose America to it's greatest preeminence and what it is now known for today?

It is scary to actually meet people like you.

why is it scary to meet people like me? Because I'm informed beyond a singular talking point? Grow up.
