Berlin’s university canteens go almost meat-free as students prioritise climate

I feel heard.

I have no shame about "being an asshole" and sending back a dish or asking for a refund for a sandwich because it's slathered in some ingredient that wasn't in its description.

If you can't fully remove it yourself (no, I'm not going to make a restaurant remake a burger just because there's a piece of lettuce on it) and it's something I don't like that's not listed in the ingredients (mayo is a common one for me, too) it's their fault for not properly describing the dish, not my fault for not asking if any of foods I don't like is inseperable from the dish.

What boggles my mind is how much this shit must suck for people with serious allergies. I might be grossed out by mustard and pissed I have to get my money back when I buy a sandwich with "surprise" mustard on it but if it were my childhood best friend who bit into that same sandwich he'd be heading straight for the emergency room instead of asking for a refund.

How hard is it to just list the damn ingredients?
