Imagine if Elon/Bezos has to sell half their company ownership to pay their "wealth" taxes. They'd quickly lose control of their companies and the companies could sink in matter of days. Millions of investors would be fucked as a result. Billions would be at loss of services they provide.

A smartass might say "who cares about billionaire companies." Then they forget that these companies are providing valuable services and products. For example, Elon's companies are accelerating the global pace of green tech adoption that everyone benefits. Bezo's companies are key/critical to providing billions with goods/services online. Both are critical in times of pandemic like this.
