I was addicted to alcohol for years and drank from 14 years age to my early 30s. Ive never blacked out in my life, and after a night of drinking I remembered everything just fine. Ive been absolutely piss drunk and woke up the next morning remembering everything. Alcohol doesnt affect everything the same. Sometimes we forget that people react to substances differently.

When I was young I always just assumed when people claimed they couldnt remember something because they were drunk they were using the alcohol as an excuse for what they did. I still think thats often the case, but I can accept from other people's experiences that maybe people actually do blackout and forget everything they did.
