It’s interesting that you think I am a man; I am, in fact, a woman. If I were nonplussed about a person showing up whose photos did not match, I would say something. I don’t think I would be upset about it unless it was very clear I was catfished by an entirely different person, but I would definitely say something to try to ensure they understood how it looked to someone unsuspecting and how it might upset potential matches. And if the person called me out for my roots, I would definitely say something.

So what if he made a scene in a public place? Did he seem to care that you might? Public violence seems unlikely, though I know in the world we live in anything is possible; however, I feel like we’ve become an entire world of passive aggressive people who don’t know how to calmly talk about things that bother us and chalk it up to other external factors beyond our control.
