I've got a 10 week old spitz and I'm starting her on a stricter schedule to make sure gets enough sleep throughout the day. I've read a bunch of stuff on here about enforced naps, but had a question.

Today is my first day trying a strict schedule out and it's basically 1.5 hours awake, 2-3 hours nap. Generally it's gone fine, but both times when I put her down for one of the scheduled 2-3 hour naps, she has only slept for 45-60 mins or so before waking up and whining a ton to be let out. I wasn't sure if it was a whine to go pee, so after about 15 straight minutes of whining I let her out and she peed right away. When I came inside I put her back in the crate so she'd get another hour or so of sleep, and after maybe 2 minutes of whining she fell asleep again for 1.5 hrs. The same exact thing happened during the second long nap I had scheduled. She always sleep through the night (since day 2!) so I'm not sure if she's waking up because she has to pee, or if she just whines because she doesn't wanna be in the crate anymore. I put a blanket over the crate and she's in a quiet room. Before I started trying to do enforced naps she would sometimes nap in my apartment for up to 2-3 hours, so I know she's capable of it.

I guess my questions are: 1. If she wakes up & whines 1 hr into a scheduled 2-3 hr nap, should I take her out to pee and put her back in? Or should I just ignore and hope she eventually goes back to sleep? And 2. Is there an adjustment period to putting a puppy on a stricter scheduled? Maybe her body will eventually get used to the nap times?
