its not a dangerous profession. its just one of the few where someone might shoot you. its like how you wont get eaten by a shark on the beach, but you're a little bit more scared in the water because you really cant say a shark wont eat you in the ocean even though you're pretty sure it wont happen.

police are beach goers. i understand the fear but lets stick to the facts when discussing how dangerous it is, not the emotions. im probably not going to get eaten by jaws on my next surfing trip no matter how scared i get
