The deck is stacked, the rules are rigged

So I can only give you my very limited perspective, but I went on a date with a guy who had been married for close to 20 years (divorced for 2).

He was a really nice guy - thoughtful, sweet and funny. He arranged and paid for an inexpensive but insanely fun date. I had a good time!

I just felt so intimidated by his previous marriage that we didn’t go on a second date. How am I supposed to measure up to the person he loved for two decades? I just felt no matter what, I’d always be second place. I’ve had a few long term relationships, but I’ve never been special enough to walk down the aisle. And I know I’m not going to be, and so what’s the point?
