Disheartening

My father is the skinniest man alive

Sounds like a problem in and of itself and doesn't mean he is healthy.

My mom has struggled with her weight since having me

Very common problem

He weighs in as "overweight" but is not actually fat.

BMI doesn't really apply to people who are muscular.

So support can come from many different places, but for some reason people need to feel like the need the validation from their family. They only say you won't get your moneys worth because they don't believe in you, but the only person that matters is for you to believe in yourself and as long as always do, you will never be defeated.

You have taken a major step toward not just looking better, but probably adding many years on to your life, feeling less pain, and lowering the chance of many health issues that come along with being obese.

Lastly, just because you are doing low carb doesn't mean you can still eat as much as you want, you still need to track calorie and macro intake and some people do not understand this. As far as the exercise goes, try to do the cardio in the morning in a fasted state if you're able to, if you feel sick then don't but cardio bright and early in the morning before eating anything will go right to the fat stores and start burning. If you eat, your body will want to use that for fuel first and then go to the fat stores. So by doing it fasted, the glycogen from your muscles that is depleted will be replenished first instead of going to fat stores and this is when I would eat my carbs for the day. Do some research on carb backloading the taking advantage of glucose utilization.
