Dog Restoration

Posts like this really help me to remember to keep trying.

I have a high energy dog so I walk a lot and if you spend a lot of time wandering about you run into stray animals. I find a lot of cats and most of the time I just give them a lookover and think they can probably take care of themselves. But sometimes I find some poor cat who is clearly lost or abandoned. A couple months ago I found this cat/kitten crying in a rain storm. I took her around to all the nearby houses and asked if she belonged to anyone. After about an hour of this I took her home and put her in a spare bedroom away from my cat and dog. She was really happy to be out of the rain and a very affectionate young cat. I called the aspca to report a found animal and called the vet to get an appointment for her before I let my cat get in contact with her. I brought her in and they run some tests and we start a treatment plan for the many health problems. Then the test results come back and she is positive for feline leukemia. She had to be put down that day. I almost stopped trying after that but thanks to stories like this one I still make an effort when I see a stray.
