While I hope that this is true, I'd note that the problem isn't just the U.S. point of view. Other countries are starting to shift into an opposing position because it's what the populace demands. Whether that's Canada coming off stronger in reaction to the tariffs or Mexico (from what little I've read) more likely electing a hard line gov that is not friendly to the U.S. as a result of all the insults towards Mexican people, the folks on the other side of the table table might be different as well. So even if by that time the climate has changed in the U.S. it's possible/probable it will also have changed elsewhere as well. And probably not favorably.
