This dude called me like five times to try to get directions to the hotel I work at. When he finally found it, he was pissed.

I used to work in recruiting for a Fortune 500 company. Specifically, I answered a phone for general calls and tried to help our applicants in any way they needed (using our website, checking status of applications, etc.)

Anyway, one day this guy called and he was freaking out because he was running late for his interview. He was angry that his GPS didn't lead him to the right place, one of the first things he told me was that he had a GPS and it was "never wrong."

I pulled his file based on his phone number, saw the address, I confirmed if that was what he had put into his GPS, he said it was. I looked it up on google maps, it was kind of in BFE, no surprise the GPS wouldn't find it. I ask him where he is and I start to give him directions.

Giving him directions was not easy because he was so angry and frustrated. For example, "Okay so you need to head turn East at that intersection." "I DON'T KNOW WHICH WAY EAST IS! IS THAT LEFT OR RIGHT?"

Ultimately I'm on streetview so I can describe what he should be seeing, and which way to turn. Ultimately I get him to the building, albeit about five minutes late, and he's berated me every step of the way and has been furious that he's late.

Then as he's getting out of his car and walking through the parking lot he says "Okay, can you call them and explain what happened? Since this is your fault?"

Not even to be a dick, but out of genuinely being stumped, I asked "How is this our fault?"

He had said it with the fucking arrogance of some douche-bag that is just so used to customer service reps bending over backwards to make them happy. Only what people tended to forget at that job is that I wasn't fucking customer service. My job was to help you get through our application process, not help you leave with a smile on your face.

Anyway, that pissed him off, but he started to sputter, "Because you all sent me... the wrong uh... look my GPS is never wrong." This is like the tenth time he told me his GPS was never wrong.

"No, we sent you the correct address. We also recommended that you look up the site prior to your interview so you knew how to get there. We also asked you how often you talk on the phone while driving, and we disqualify everyone who says anything but 'Never'".
