You are now using the film industry and a single politician as a bench mark of what science is actually saying. You don't have any substance to your argument.

Scientists typically don't say "Hey stop doing research" because they disagree with someone so I don't imagine they will be telling the fringe scientists to stop doing research. You seem to not really understand how academia or the scientific process works.

The most reliable models have been used for a long period of time and by most of the climate research community, they have been extremely accurate in many ways. The level of ocean rise has been in line with models, as have tempersture rises with CO2, in fact this year a rapid rise in tempersture exceeded model predictions but again, it's a single year, the trend overall is reflected very accurately with the models.

What exactly do you think is alarmist? I'd like to hear one or a few specific predictions from you that you believe to be alarmist. A prediction you heard in the last 10 years.

People often say " 'They' said New York would have been underwater right now."

I don't think there was ever a serious study that showed that, it was inaccurate and wild speculation from whoever said it but that doesn't discredit the actual research that is going on.
