Imagine that there is a very popular security company (let's call it company S) that when their services are requested, they install a system in a desired space (a house, an office, a bar, etc.) which tracks down every single person in that space and records all their movements. The recorded videos are stored in a public server, and anyone can access the content freely and legally, from the moment it is stored in disk. Company S ultimately owns all the content, and anyone entering a space where company S's services are opperative automatically gives consent to record all his/her actions until the person lives the place. People is aware of the terms of service, and the spaces where the system is installed announce it properly at the entrance. You may wonder what utility could all that have, but let me continue.

Now suppose there is a famous man, called Mr. F, that has requested company S's services at his own house. Mr. F is a multimillionare and he is partying all day long at home. Many different people passes through that house every day, and all what happens is recorded. Everyday from 9 to 11 PM, Mr. F has a reality show on TV on a certain channel (let's call it channel X). In that show it is broadcasted in real time what Mr. F does in that time slot, using special P.O.V. footage as well as content from company S's recordings. Channel X pays Mr. F and company S for the show, but has a contract with Mr. F which states that he cannot have another show in any other channel.

Then, one day channel Y starts continuously broadcasting Mr. F's life, using exclusively company S's public recordings and without making profit. Channel Y only stops the broadcast from 9 to 11 PM, when channel X is emitting their show. When channel X's owners find out, they get mad at channel Y's owner and ask him to shut it down because they have a contract with Mr. F. However, channel Y's owner is just using public content which is freely available, so he rejects channel X's request. Finally, company S's president intervenes, saying that Mr. F has personally requested that they disallow channel Y's broadcast and take action, and also claiming that what channel Y is doing is "sort of stalking and kind of big brother stuff".
