Facts

Everyone saying this is false but I started writing HTML on shitty geocities sites I made for MUDs, stealing texture background gifs and tags from net magazine, back in like 96 when I was 11. That is what led to me being a professional programmer and eventually getting a six figure job writing software.

No one is getting paid for their shitty MySpace or geocities experience off the bat but it’s a way in the door for a ton of people. And everyone saying there are all these “free coding schools” is missing the point that a lot of people don’t know these jobs/skills are even available to them. Making your MySpace fresh as fuck teaches you that door is open and you might even enjoy the work.

It’s like the kid whose parents make them hang out at church and they realize they love piano. If they never went to the church they maybe never would have sat behind the keys, even if they were bad at it at first.
