Fat women of reddit, what's it like to be a fat women? I'm a fat man and I'm curious to know.

I've been thin and athletic and fat.

When you're fat you feel either invisible or the focus of everyone's attention. Either people outright ignore you or they are angry at you for just existing. When you're a fat woman, people think they have a license to lecture you about your body, your choices, your health, your life and especially your appearance. People think it's okay to hurl insults at you while you're just walking the street minding your own business.

When you're a fat woman you feel a sense of shame and guilt every time you pass a mirror (at least I do) but that shame and guilt is so crippling it prevents you from losing weight. I've always believed you lose weight when you finally accept your body, love it, and want to do right by it... and I'm just not at that point.

When you're a fat woman dating you find it hard to believe when your SO calls you beautiful. You don't want to go out together or meet his family for fear they will judge you.

Basically, the life of a fat woman is full of self-loathing, sadness and people who think it's okay to fuck with you.
