They're not backing social conservatives, they're not backing principled libertarians. They're not even backing neo-conservatives who have a particular vision.

no - boomers are the group that Fox and the multiple facets of the GOP have capitalized on their social fears of brown skinned people, and whipped them into a frenzy for a decade plus. And gone are the days of the right wing having any platform. now they "exploited crazies" who have been whipped into a frenzy so social conservatives, libertarain-ish and neo-cons take advantage of them, have taken over. Little by little, you have your Palin's, your Trumps.
